Public Hearings



 1. Amended: A Zoning Ordinance Text Amendment to Articles 5 and 15 to Develop Standards and Definitions for Solar Facilities and to Allow Utility Scale Solar Facilities as a Special Use - On July 11, 2019, the Board of Supervisors initiated a Text Amendment to develop standards and definitions for Solar Facilities and to create a new use category and special standards for Utility Scale Solar projects. At its February 20, 2020 regular meeting, the Planning Commission voted 4 to 1 recommending approval of the text amendment.   (Christopher T.  2. A Resolution to Approve Comprehensive Plan Amendment COMA-20-013028 - A Comprehensive Plan Amendment to Chapter 6 - Opal Service District - This Comprehensive Plan Amendment proposes to add approximately 82 acres along Avatar Way to the Opal Service District with a land use of Light Industrial or Mixed Commercial. Further, the amendment proposes to update the future road network and utilities section to reflect the current and future needs of the Fauquier County Water and Sanitation Authority (FCWSA). The Board of Supervisors initiated this amendment on May 14, 2020. On September 17, 2020, the Planning Commission held a public hearing and voted unanimously to recommend approval of the amendment.  3. Amended: A Resolution to Approve Special Exception SPEX-20-012873 - Vint Hill Vet and Kennel - An Application for a Special Exception to Operate a Major Kennel in the Planned Commercial Industrial Development (PCID) District (Portion of PIN 7915-65-5274-000, Scott District) - The Applicant is requesting a Special Exception to operate a Major Kennel in conjunction with a Veterinary Clinic in the Planned Commercial Industrial Development (PCID) District. The property is located at the corner of Kennedy Road, Vint Hill Parkway and Aiken Drive. On September 17, 2020, the Planning Commission voted unanimously to recommend approval of the application.  4. Amended: A Public Hearing to Consider a Boundary Adjustment Between a Noncommon Open Space Parcel Subject to a Permanent Conservation Easement and an Adjoining Parcel Also Subject to a Permanent Conservation Easement - Robert M. Young, David Lee Hartley and Catherine Young Hartley have proposed to create a boundary line adjustment between a parcel of 34.307 acres subject to a non-common open space and a parcel of 8.498 acres not currently subject to easement.  The proposed adjustment would create a parcel of 21.894 acres and a parcel of 20.909 acres.  Both parcels would be subject to permanent conservation easements.  The resolution also authorizes the Board to accept the two permanent easements.  5. Amended: A Public Hearing to Consider Whether to Exercise Eminent Domain Power in Order to Acquire an Easement for the Catlett Calverton Sewer Project Over the Property of Gary Allen Nalls and Stephanie Renee Nalls - The County has, through a negotiator, attempted to acquire a portion of the property of Mr. and Mrs. Nalls voluntarily and has made a bona fide offer to purchase the property.  The County has not been able to obtain the property, which is necessary in order to complete a portion of the Catlett sewer project.  The easement consists of 1,576 square feet or 0.0362 acres as shown on the plat. The resolution authorizes the County to acquire the property through the use of eminent domain and enter onto the property prior to or during condemnation proceedings.
